I have no doubt that people, along with all of the other species, are evolving.  We are not doing anything obvious like growing an extra toe, or losing one, we are evolving intellectually, electronically, digitally, sensorally...

Species show the most dramatic evolution during times of stress.  How are we humans are handling our stress these days, what physiological changes are happening?  We are getting  high blood pressure and having heart attacks and committing suicide - these are all less than beneficial in the 'survival of the fittest' definition, ineffective strategies.

We are getting ADHD - a coping strategy for a 'too fast' world.   Measuring the incredible increase in this 'disorder' would indicate that this is a very dominant gene.  What is nature selecting for?  Why are we trying to 'fix' it?

We are getting migraines.  I have met a few people who 'suffer' from an unusual symptom of migraine that does not involove any pain, referred to as an 'aura'.  They 'see' stars, get tunnel vision, describe how a part of their periferal vision becomes blurred and 'looks like it's bent on another axis'...
Could eyes be evolving?  Could they be seeing beyond the ordinary visual spectrum?  That might help us, as a species, to see damaging uv rays without equipment.

We are getting skin rashes, and allergies, and a growing number of less than fatal 'burn-out' syndromes where we are forced to make changes in our habits, our diets, and our environments.  We are creating the very stresses that increase our chances of mutation.  We individually have to choose how to make ourselves more 'fit'.  Who is to say which characteristic will be the one that gets to survive and proliferate?   I doubt that having the biggest bank account will matter one bit.
